Bainings cooks demonstrate preparing python for lunch

What's for lunch? Python, cooked mumu style in a bed of hot rocks. Pythons are a traditional food of the people of the Bainings Mountains in the Gazelle Peninsula hinterland. On this occasion, they brought their pythons to town to demonstrate python killing, preparation, cooking, and eating to fascinated crowds at the National Mask and Warwagira Festival in 2013. A similar event in 2012 had to be canceled -- heavy rain in the mountains had sent the pythons into hiding. P7202889
