Tolai Tubuans dance at the National Mask and Warwagira Festival


Two Tolai (pron. Toll-eye) Tubuans prance and cavort in an age-old ceremonial passed down from initiated patron to initiated young man. The Tubuans are the visible manifestation of a powerful male secret society among the Tolai people who live in the Gazelle Peninsula area around Rabaul and Kokopo. P1060034_2
