The Kinavai, a spectacular ceremony with deep spiritual significance for Tolais, opens the National Mask and Warwagira Festival each year. Here (in 2011)  in the pearly light of dawn, the mysterious (and somewhat menacing) Tubuans have come ashore from boats and canoes, to be greeted by a seething crowd of thousands good naturedly jostling for the best photo position or just the best spot simply to look. A wonderful experience. P1040229
